Product management for a comprehensive insurance platform covering Policy, Claims, Reinsurance, Finance (Microsoft Dynamics NAV), and Enterprise Data Warehouse with SSAS Cubes. Serving P&C insurance and captive insurance markets.
Insurance — Developer & Advisory Consultant
Engaged to analyze and improve the performance of the insurance policy system. Led a performance improvement project delivering close to 10,000 hours of development, including 500 hours of DBA work. Optimized stored procedures, reducing search execution times from 30 seconds to 2 seconds. Consolidated server infrastructure from 42 to 32 servers. Also delivered a new 360-degree Customer View and RADAR pricing engine integration.

Built a new Data Warehouse for the insurance division, serving actuaries and business analysts. Designed the complete architecture including ETL from DB2, staging layers, star schema warehouse, SSAS cubes, and reporting via SharePoint with PerformancePoint dashboards.

Contracted for an independent assessment of database systems. Delivered comprehensive analysis and recommendations covering hardware, network, methodology, and technology improvements to increase overall database performance.

Developed automated survey integration between the bank and QuestBack, enabling automated distribution and analysis of customer surveys via SAS. Built a Customer Engagement web application providing a complete overview of all customer engagements, simplifying daily work for financial advisors.

Multiple engagements spanning data warehouse development, commission calculation systems, web applications, and reporting for both Norwegian and Swedish operations.
Government — Developer
Complete remake of a legacy ASP 3.0 portal (100+ forms) into a modern MVC 4.0 web application. Developed a forms engine based on Excel definitions using EPPlus, with full support for formulas, validation, dimensions, and conditions. The portal (eRapp II) handles data collection, reporting, and analysis for energy regulation.
Shipping — Developer
Developed SharePoint-based compliance campaign management for this global shipping leader. Silverlight front-end with SQL Server backend for creating, distributing, and tracking company-wide compliance campaigns.
Automotive — Developer
Conversion of a data warehouse from Oracle to SQL Server. Reverse-engineered the Oracle system and led the specification and implementation of ETL, warehouse design, and tabular model with calculations in SSIS on SQL Server.
Oil & Gas — Architect & Developer
Developed a desktop application to automate the monthly invoicing process, replacing a manual Excel-based workflow that previously required several employees for a full week. Built on SQL Server, .NET 4, Entity Framework, WPF, with SSIS for data loads from Oracle and SAP BPC, and SSRS for invoice reporting.

Remake of a legacy B2B car insurance portal (originally ASP 3.0 / VB 6.0 from 1999) into a modern MVC 3.0 application. The original system had processed over 1 million insurance policies.
